Kylian Mbappe Next Club Odds Revealed
During each football transfer window, there’s always a major story about a player potentially switching teams. This summer, the spotlight is on Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain. The 24-year-old has declined to renew his contract and is interested in joining Real Madrid. However, Al Hilal, a team from Saudi Arabia, has proposed a £259 million offer for him, making him the world’s highest-paid footballer. This article explores the clubs interested in acquiring him and discusses the odds of Mbappe’s next club choice.
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has given the nod to a staggering £259 million offer from Al Hilal for Kylian Mbappe, although the forward remains undecided with other interested parties in line. The 24-year-old, who has declined to renew his contract with the French champions, is on the market and was excluded from the team’s pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea.
Mbappe is believed to have a deal set to join Real Madrid next year on a free transfer, having stated he will not be activating a one-year extension. However, PSG is eager to secure a fee now.
Al Hilal has proposed a potential solution, offering to pay PSG a world record £259m transfer fee and then giving Mbappe a one-year contract that would enable him to join Real for free next summer.
Sky Sports reports that the Parisian club has accepted the Saudi Arabian offer and has given them the green light to negotiate with the striker. However, the deal is still highly complex. Mbappe is unsure about relocating to Saudi Arabia at this point in his career, even if it’s just for one season. However, Al Hilal is prepared to offer him £604m, a wage that would make him the highest-paid footballer ever, equating to roughly £11.6m per week.
The former Monaco striker also has other offers to consider, although they are significantly less profitable. Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester United, and even Tottenham have expressed interest in Mbappe and have all inquired about his situation.
Mbappe, who initially moved to PSG on loan in 2017 before finalising a £150m transfer a year later, is thought to already earn as much as £2m a week after choosing not to move to Real Madrid last year and instead signing a contract extension that expires in 2024. He scored 29 goals in just 34 appearances in Ligue 1 last season and seven times in the Champions League.

He famously scored a hat-trick in the World Cup final but ended up losing against Argentina.
In this article, we explore the different clubs that are linked with Mbappe, rate the likelihood of the transfer happening and where to get the best odds.
Kylian Mbappe’s Next Club – Al-Hilal
Although the staggering world-record bid of £257 million from Al-Hilal has made headlines throughout the world, the latest news from the player camp is that despite the incredible sums of money being offered, the player will reject the offer as he has no interest in moving to the Saudi club.
PSG have permitted Al Hilal to speak to Mbappe, but he will likely not answer the call when it comes.
The money they are offering is mind-blowing. It equates to £600m a year, £50m a month, £1.64m a day, £68.5k an hour, £1.1k a minute or £19 for every second of every day.
To sweeten an already incredible deal, Al Hilal is open to letting him join Real Madrid once the season ends, but they may also present a new offer to keep him in the Saudi Pro League. It would be a costly deal for what would basically be a one-year loan deal, but as we have seen, money is not an issue, and the Saudi state is well aware of the boost it would give to their domestic league if arguably the world’s best player joins, even if it was for a short stint.
PSG have declared that they are determined not to lose the player they paid more than £150m on for nothing and have even suggested they are willing to listen to loan offers for the player as he has played his last game for PSG.
With that in mind, it’s no surprise that plenty of clubs have been credited with an interest in the player, including from British clubs, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham. Mbappe odds of joining any Saudi Club are set at 13/2, with bet365.
Kylian Mbappe’s Next Club – Chelsea
Unsurprisingly, Chelsea are being linked as being Kylian Mbappe’s next team. Since American businessman and investor Todd Boehly took over the club for £4.25bn from Roman Abramovich, he has been linked with almost every player on the planet.
However, rather than being clickbait, you sense Boehly is craving for a statement signing and was linked with signing Christiano Ronaldo before the player moved to Saudi Professional League (SPL) club Al Nassr on a two-and-a-half-year contract, reportedly worth more than $200m a year in January.
Since Todd Boehly’s takeover of Chelsea in 2022, the club’s spending has surged dramatically, making them a financial heavyweight in European football. Under Boehly’s leadership and his investment group, Chelsea outspent Manchester United during the 2022 summer transfer market, setting new Premier League records with a total spree of £251 million and a net investment of almost £206 million.
During the first months of Boehly’s ownership, Chelsea made nine signings before the 2022 summer window closed and added eight more in the winter window, reaching a total of 18 new players by January. The 2023 summer window saw a £52 million ($66m) deal for French international Christopher Nkunku and Senegalese international Nicolas Jackson.
Boehly’s total spending on players as Chelsea owner, excluding performance-related add-ons, is approximately £605.95 million out of the £1.75 billion he committed to investing over ten years as part of the sale agreement.

Regarding player signings, Marina Granovskaia had been a key figure in previous years but left the club in 2022. Boehly temporarily assumed the role of interim sporting director, but the club has since made several appointments, allowing Boehly to step back from direct involvement in transfers.

You’d imagine with so much spending, FFP rules would prevent any offer for the player. However, as you can see in the table above, Chelsea has been actively moving players on, so it’s perhaps not as unlikely as it first appears.
Another reason Chelsea fans are hopeful is an old tweet from Kylian Mbappe that expresses his admiration for the club. The tweet, dating back to October 2016 when Chelsea won the Premier League, features Mbappe referring to the club as “More than a team” in admiration of Diego Costa and Eden Hazard celebrating goals for an injured Willian.
However, would a player of Mbappe’s calibre harm his Ballon d’Or ambitions by joining a team without European football next year? It doesn’t seem very likely. One of the reasons he is willing to turn his back on Saudi riches is because he wants football’s top accolades.
Mbappe odds of joining Chelsea are 50/1.
Kylian Mbappe’s Next Club – Manchester United
If there is a club that is linked to more players than Chelsea, it’s Manchester United, so seeing the Red Devils in the conversation for Mbappe’s next team is hardly a surprise. The red half of Manchester United has form for making record-breaking deals, having broken the British transfer record on six occasions since they signed Denis Law in 1962.
- Denis Law (Signed from Torino in 1962 – £115,000)
- Bryan Robson (Signed from West Brom in 1981 – £1.5m)
- Andy Cole (Signed from Newcastle in 1995 – £7m)
- Juan Sebastian Veron (Signed from Lazio in 2001 – £28.1m)
- Rio Ferdinand (Signed from Leeds in 2002 – £29.1m)
- Paul Pogba (Signed from Juventus in 2016 – £89m)
They also broke the record for the most expensive defenders of all time by paying Leicester City £80m for Harry Maguire for in 2019.
Their record for paying big is mixed, to say the least.
No one can deny Denis Law, Bryan Robson, Andy Cole and Rio Ferdinand’s impact at the club. However, the same cannot be said for Juan Sebastian Veron and Paul Pogba, who shined at other clubs, but had underwhelming spells in Manchester.
Harry Maguire hasn’t been the player the fee promised, and he seems likely to leave the club this summer at a significant loss to the club.
However, after years of trying to spend their way out of trouble since Alex Fergusson left, the coffers appear to be running dry at Old Trafford, especially with the threat of FFP.
Mason Mount and André Onana have been signed, and once a striker is signed, the club need to sell to bring in any more reinforcements. Could Kylian Mbappe be that striker? It seems unlikely to us, and we are surprised that the Mbappe next club odds are the same for Manchester United as they are for Chelsea.

20-year-old Rasmus Hojlund seems a much more likely signing, but ironically, PSG are also interested in the Denmark striker to fill the Kylian Mbappe-sized hole.
Mbappe odds of joining Manchester United are 50/1.
Manchester United’s noisy neighbours have in the past been linked to Mbappe but are hardly mentioned as a realistic destination recently. That’s really not a surprise, as they have Erling Haaland in their ranks. They also have the highly-rated Julián Álvarez on their books, who many believe could become as vital as Haaland in the next few years.
City are one of the few clubs that could afford Mbappe, but at 50/1, operators also believe it is highly unlikely.
Kylian Mbappe’s Next Club – Tottenham
With no disrespect to Tottenham, when Talksport announced that Tottenham was in the conversation to sign Mbappe, we did have to check the calendar to double-check it wasn’t April 1.
Tottenham are not renowned for paying big money. This is a fact bourne out that when the Premier League era started in 1992, Tottenham’s record signing was still Paul Gascoigne, who they bought four years earlier.
Their current record signing, Tanguy Ndombele, joined from Ligue 1 side Lyon for a club record 60m euros (£53.8m) in 2019. He played 54 games for Tottenham in all competitions before Lyon confirmed the reacquisition of Ndombele on loan. The agreement also included an option to secure the player’s services for €65 million permanently. However, they didn’t take up the opportunity, and on August 18, 2022, Ndombele was transferred on loan to Napoli. The deal was structured to last until the season’s end, with a provision to purchase the player outright for €30 million, half the sum Tottenham paid for him.
However, there are a couple of reasons why Kylian Mbappe’s next team being Tottenham might not be as outlandish as it first appears.
Tottenham has become a football superpower commercially. Spurs generated a revenue of approximately £444.55 million in the 2021/22 season, an increase of nearly £102 million compared to the previous year. The most significant portion of this revenue came from commercial sales, which amounted to approximately £182.75 million, making up around 41% of the total revenue. The Statista Research Department published this data in January 2023.
Another reason is that they could raise £100m+ from the sale of England captain Harry Kane. The 29-year-old is into the last year of his Tottenham contract and doesn’t appear willing to extend it.
Bayern Munich appear to be the front runners for his signature, but PSG are also rumoured to be interested. So, could there be an audacious swap deal on the cards?
Mbappe odds of joining Tottenham are 100/1.
Kylian Mbappe’s Next Club – Real Madrid
Real Madrid is the likeliest club to be Mbappe’s next team, with the Spanish giants having previously tried to sign the player with the aim of him being part of a new ‘Galacticos’ team alongside Jude Bellingham.
Madrid was close to signing Mbappe for £170 million before he signed a new deal with his French club in 2022. Mbappe signed a new contract at PSG but also talked to Real before deciding. Real Madrid, at the time, thought they had agreed on terms with the player and was “stunned” when he opted to extend his contract, causing a rift with the Spanish club who complained to UEFA over the size of Mbappe’s contract with PSG.
With the player publicly declaring that it is his ambition to play for Real Madrid, it causes a dilemma for the club. Do they gamble and wait and sign the player for a free next year, or do they make an offer to secure the player now?
The situation is further complicated because the player will be given a €60 million loyalty bonus if he stays at Paris Saint-Germain past August 1. With the transfer window not closing until Friday, September 1, it would seem logical they could put a bid in after the loyalty payment has been paid.
However, this is a risky strategy as they’ve seen the player change his mind before, and a worst-case scenario for them is that the player is convinced to snub them once more and extend his contract. But this does seem an unlikely scenario, with PSG vowing not to play him again.
Mbappe odds of joining Real Madrid are 4/6.
