An Overview of the Betting Options

NetBet has an impressive array of sports, virtual sports and extra markets to bet on. The betting options complimenting the sports options also show great depth and have clearly been well thought out. While the overall number is smaller than the biggest operators, all the popular options are present and correct.

Sports Markets and Betting Types

Alongside the most popular UK sports markets, such as football, tennis and horse racing, there are plenty of extra options, such as e-sports. The depth of the coverage of each market is impressive. While you won’t find all the international or lower leagues – especially in-play – that some other operators offer, the coverage is more than adequate. There’s still options to bet on leagues as diverse as the Azerbaijan first division though, so you know the coverage is strong.

The Most Popular Markets at NetBet
Football Tennis Darts Basketball Rugby
Premier League Wimbledon BD OWorld Championship NBA World Cup
Ligue 1 US Open PDC World Championship Turkish Airlines The Six Nations
Primera Division Australian Open Premier League 7Days EuroCup Aviva Premiership
Seria A French Open UK Open Champions League Top 14
Champions League WTA Dubai The Masters FIBA Europe Cup Super 15
UEFA Europa League ATP Marseille World Matchplay Russian Basketball League Guinness Pro 12

In terms of betting options, for the bigger events in each sport, the bet types can be organised via category. With football for example, there are main markets, goals, half time/full time, corners, specials, cards and minute markets. The average number of bets for a Premier League game is around 100, which puts NetBet up there in regards to the competition.

In-play is where things start to get a little messy in our opinion. The problem here is not especially with the betting options, as there are plenty and in-play betting at NetBet works smoothly. However, the layout of live betting here is messy and can make things confusing if you want to switch between sports. For example, on the in-play betting homepage, the different sports are separated only by a very thing horizontal column across the page. The result is that everything blends into one and it’s difficult to discern between the different sports and to which sport a fixture belongs. Aesthetically then, in-play betting isn’t so great, but as I mentioned already, it works and functions well. There’s cash out available, with a sliding scale partial cash out function being added recently.

In-play Betting & Live Streaming

As I briefly mentioned above, the in-play betting experience has benefitted from a sliding scale being added to the cash out function, meaning punters can now partially cash out their bets. We’ll cover in-play betting at NetBet in full on a dedicated page, but be safe in the knowledge, that NetBet has provided a great live betting service.

Multiples Betting Options

There are of course loads of multiple bet types available to accommodate the wide array of markets. NetBet has been clever in this area, giving you the choice to switch between combination and single sections in the bet slip. For combination accumulators, the bookie allows up to 20 selections to be added, which is a high amount. The maximum number of individual selections to be contained in system bets is also 20. System betting goes all the way up to 13 individual selections with the super-heinz system bet. Of course, all the system bets for fewer selections are available too, right down to patent and Trixie bets.

The bet slip is easy to use thanks to the different sections and looks great. Bet stakes can either be entered in to the box or if you are betting a common amount, can be selected by using the drop-down menu box. Returns for all selections, whether single or multiple, are always shown.

Bet & Win Limits

The minimum bet stakes at NetBet are currently 7c for a single pre-match bet. The operator states this may differ for some in-play bets. This is a nice low number, showing that the betting site is appealing to all punters, whatever their level.

Odds levels9

The table below gives you an overview of the range of odds you can find at the bookmaker for some of the most popular NG sports markets. As you can see, NetBet offers competitive odds for most sports. Football fans are especially well catered for, with a bookmaker’s margin of up to 95%. Across the board though the odds are strong here. Major sport markets like cricket, tennis and horse racing all have good odds in general, so you should consider NetBet if you liked betting on these sports.

  • Football91.0 - 95.0%
  • Cricket90.1 - 95.2%

The data for the table above was taken from many pre-match fixtures for each sport, with the range between the highest and lowest result listed. Being able to determine how good the odds are, is a good skill to have and you can learn how to calculate a bookmaker’s margin here. While we have mostly used this data to award the score for the odds level, we also checked out the in-play prices offered by the bookie. overall, these were good. While live betting obviously offers lower prices than many pre-match markets, NetBet’s in-play odds were always strong.

How is the Online Platform? 7

It’s true that whether you like a betting site’s online platform is a subjective matter and we will all have our favourite platform, based on personal opinions. But, we’ve tried to take a few factors into consideration to give an objective rating of the platform at NetBet.

The homepage is full of info boxes, links to promotions and other assorted areas. While it’s bright, in your face and there’s a lot to take in, the smart layout means the page doesn’t appear to cramped and messy. As such, it makes it easier to get around, since the homepage features a link to just about every area you could wish. Along with the standard sports market links, in-play betting and promotions tabs, there’s lots more. NetBet packs in the features; the extras section alone features statistics, results, and a betting rules section. There are also quick links to the mobile, cash out, VIP club and the bookie’s blog in the banner along the centre of the screen.

So far so good then, but the problems start with the in-play arena, as I briefly mentioned earlier. Unfortunately, live betting here is a somewhat chaotic experience due to the design and layout of the in-play page. It’s difficult to discern which bets are for which sport, while the fixture flashing to show something has occurred in that match is a good idea, but is somewhat off putting in practice. This is a shame as NetBet nails almost all other aspects of the online bookmaker. The extra features are done as well as anyone else, while the green and black colour scheme is really cool. Functions like the bet slip and odds updating in-play are flawless, while the site in general is easy to navigate.

How to Place a Bet

As it should be with any Nigerian online betting sites, placing a bet here is a simple three step process, once you’ve negotiated to the relevant league, event or tournament of the sport you want to bet on. Odds for result betting are shown next to each fixture, but if your desired bet is something else, then you can click on the fixture, after which the list of available bets will be shown. So, to add a bet to the bet slip, simply click the odds of that bet. The bet slip is ever present on the right-hand side of the screen and you can see the selection added automatically. After this, it’s time to choose your stake. Select a number from the drop-down box, or enter your stake. Once you’re sure everything is correct, simply click the green bet now button.

  • [1] Make Your Selection(s)making selections to bet on at the bookmakerSimply click on the odds of your selection(s) to add it to the bet slip.
  • [2] Enter in the Stakeentering the stake in the bet slipThe selection(s) will appear in the bet slip, where you can use the dropbox to choose your stake.
  • [3] Confirm your Selection(s)confirming the bet with netbetSimply click the place bets box to confirm your stake and the bet.

The bet slip works well and you can quickly access your live bets in it. So, if you’re wanting to cash out a bet early, you can do that here, or head to the dedicated cash out area. One thing I particularly like about the bet slip is that it has separate areas for single and multiple betting. This makes it easier to see the different multiples options and the potential returns they will offer.

What Else is There to Know?

That covers most of the basics, but the best bookies have other areas covered that make them the best. You should also consider areas like customer service and security when choosing which betting sites to use. Below we’ll cover these areas, along with some general info about the company.

All About the Business

NetBet was founded in 2001 and is a sports betting specialist, although it also offers many other gambling services, like casino, poker and lotto games. NetBet is licensed by the Gambling Commission for the NG, but it also possesses a European licence for players on the continent, while its headquarters are in Malta.

Great Customer Service 9

We’ve been impressed by the customer service at NetBet. To start, there’s just about every form of assistance you could ask for. There’s live chat, phone, email form, and fax. We utilised all these methods to judge the standard of the help service here and all our enquiries were answered swiftly and satisfactorily. Really, the only reason the bookmaker didn’t receive full marks in this area is since its live chat is not available 24/7, like some other operators. This is of course the most used form of customer service and if provides an answer instantly, so the fact that it is not available round the clock means there will be some points where you’re unable to get an answer as quickly as you would like. But otherwise, a great performance in this area.

Licensing & Security9

Like any modern online betting site, NetBet takes the security of its platform and its customers’ data very seriously. To this end, the website employs Go Daddy 2 protection to secure and encrypt all traffic on the site.

The bookmaker also has several partners to ensure the fairness and transparency of its service. It is a member of the International Betting Adjudication service (IBAS), which can help recover punters money if there are any discrepancies between the result of a bet and the bookmaker’s actions. NetBet also uses iTech Labs for its real money and casino games, which is a trusted name in the business. Like all providers operating in the NG today, NetBet possess a licence from the Gambling Commission. This is now a mandatory requirement if a bookmaker wants to operate or even advertise in the NG. The headquarters of NetBet are in Malta.

To validate the identity of new members, the bookie employs a strict Know Your Customer (KYC) procedure. For the safety of its customers, NetBet is partner with many problem gambling assistance companies. These include, GamCare, Responsible Gambling, Gamble Aware and ADiCTEL.

Bonus Points7

It’s so far so good for the bookmaker regarding its performance in the test categories. To mix things up a bit and show what the bookmaker can do, we’ve created a bonus points round, to offer potential points to operators who perform strongly in less common areas.

  • Live Streams.0/3
  • Sponsorship.3/3
  • Awards.2/2
  • Extra Markets.1/1
  • Bonuses.1/1
  • Bonus Points.7

First off, it’s live steams. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to live stream here, so no points are awarded in this area. When it comes to sponsorship though, NetBet has it covered. The bookie is the sponsor of three different football clubs, in the form of Hamilton Academical, Saint Etienne Steaua Bucharest.

NetBet have also earned industry recognition for their sportsbook. In 2016, NetBet was crowned the best overall sports betting operator at the CEEGA awards. NetBet have also proved innovative in the industry, being the first NG bookmaker to accept Bitcoin. For extra markets, the operator comfortably scoops up maximum points, offering virtual and e-sports, as well as a specials section offering politics and entertainment betting. Bonuses too are another strong point. Alongside the huge welcome bonus, there’s a great revolving promotions range, alongside the golden goal competition the bookmaker consistently runs.

Conclusion – A Solid Choice

Hopefully, this review has left a positive impression of NetBet, as we think it is a fantastic operator that is sometimes under looked. There’s loads of markets, bet types, promotions and many other things to attract punters to the platform, while the great odds and tons of extra features should ensure that users remain loyal. We haven’t even mentioned the huge range of deposit methods available with the bookie, which means that you’ll always find the perfect way to deposit. The icing on the cake is great customer service, ensuring you’ll always have your problems solved quickly, should you come across any problems at all. No live streams is a weak point, so head to Coral if this is what you’re after.
