SportPesa launches New Sportsbook Interface
Sports betting operator SportPesa has given its UK offering a makeover with a new look sportsbook and the launch of a new UK casino.
Headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, the move comes as part of the company’s push for a greater presence and visibility in the UK and European market. The group is already very active in its native Kenya, as the main sponsor of the Kenyan Premier League and being invested in local sports leagues across Kenya and Tanzania.
A Seamless Sports Betting Environment
The overhaul comes as SportPesa look to provide a more user-friendly and seamless betting environment for its users. The entire platform and website have been given a new, updated look. The update has focused on improving navigation around the platform, functionality and the platform’s aesthetics, with have resulted in a “clean, uncluttered design”. The group have also added a blog section to the platform in order to update its users on relevant issues. The blog will cover both casino and sportsbook news, although currently there are only casino related entries.
The move comes after months of hard work and feedback, as UK Marketing Manager, Shaun Simmons, highlighted:
“Over the past few months, we have taken customer feedback on board and worked tirelessly to deliver a product that we feel will stand tall in this market. Not only will our customers have access to a decent sportsbook, but we can now also provide our valued customers with a first-class casino offering”.
The site is powered by Microgaming and is available from desktop or iOS, Android, and Windows mobile devices.
A Push for Increased Visibility in the UK Market
It’s been a busy few months for SportPesa as it aims to increase its presence and visibility in the UK market. Back in May, the company became the official shirt sponsor of Premier League team Everton. This is the fourth partnership the firm has made with an English football club, with Hull City, Arsenal, and Southampton the other teams. Continuing its links with Merseyside, the company also announced its plans to move its UK headquarters to Liverpool where it hopes to create up to 100 jobs.
It hasn’t all been plain sailing for the group however, especially back in Kenya. In June, the group were forced to pull out of a number of deals due to new tax laws on gambling revenues in the country, which will take effect in January.
SportPesa was formed in 2014 and has expanded globally to operate in Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Italy and the United Kingdom.
